moving, again

Last week we finally (finally!) found a new apartment to move to once our lease is up at the end of this month which means I am about to start the moving process again (again!) Now, you will recall, that I last moved just seven months ago, and then eight months before then, and then a month before then, and once a year for the four years before that so you would think I am an expert at this. In fact, I am horrible at moving. This is largely because I get really attached to places, my memories are often tied to them. I am starting to get all nostalgic about the neighborhood and apartment that I will soon be leaving behind so I thought I would share some of it's high points with you.

- If you can get over it's quirks, our apartment is pretty cute. Or at least I think so.
- I have always wanted to live somewhere with slanty ceilings, random I know, and the current place has them. Goal accomplished I guess.
- There are a lot of quaint things in the neighborhood, if you are able to see the charm in them. On the top of the list, Wally's Bar which I was so charmed by I wrote a whole post about it alone. Also, in some neighborhoods in Chicago you can find little Hispanic men who push carts selling popsicle (paletas, for you Spanish speakers). Not only does our neighborhood offer these men, we also live just down the block from a distribution site! Paleta carts go by all day, everyday. Also, we live next to a restaurant called Mr. Pollo that I just went into for the first time last weekend and kind of love even though I don't eat chicken.
- My porch and the view. Many a pleasant afternoon has been spent on my porch soaking up the sunshine while reading (very nearly my favorite activity). Plus, despite living miles and miles from down town, our porch offers an unobstructed view of both the Sears/Willis Tower and the Hancock Tower.

Anyways, I know the new place has a lot to offer, including three of my favorite Chicago coffee shops within walking distance, I just don't want to forget the good parts about the current place either.
