Birthday!

As some of you may know, last Friday was my birthday! The 23rd birthday in fact, and it was a great day! Thanks to all of you who sent me birthday love via text message, phone call, plans message, facebook wall post or your presence at my birthday fiesta.

I had to spend the morning in a boring training, but i made sure that I was out of the room at 10:10 so I could have my own little official birthday celebration (that's when I was born and I make sure to always observe it, perhaps a little obsessively in fact). I skipped out of class in the after to squeeze in a birthday nap followed by a birthday latte. Then i got to spend the afternoon and evening with some of the wonderful Chicago people that I have gotten to know better over the last year or so. There were some interesting blendings of friend groups but everyone humored me and played an ice breakers so that the one non-Grinnellian could learn everyone's names (and their favorite vegetable/produce item as well). We went and got Thai food, of course, and then went to a second run movie at this really neat theater. Please note, Land of the Lost is perhaps the worst movie ever and you will feel bad if you subject eight obliging friends to seeing it with you. But the evening ended well anyways!

As i hit 23, i find there are two ways of thinking of my life currently. I am either unemployed, broke, and uncertain of where I will even be living a few weeks from now (lease is up soon). Or i am ready for new adventures and experiences! I like the second option a whole lot more, bring on the next cup of coffee!

(P.S. it was my dad's birthday too this past weekend! Happy birthday daddy-o!)
